Ok. So this is something new that I want to try out. I was thinking.. You all come to my blog everyday and you know almost nothing about me.. It's like visiting a stranger, and I don't like that thought. So let me help you get more aquainted to me..
PLEASE READ THIS BELOW:
Some of this stuff will be very personal about me. If you feel better off not reading then please skip this post. If you want to know anything specific that I don't mention please feel free to ask me! :)
Ok So lets get started! This is just a bunch of stuff thats popping out of my head that you probably don't know..
- I am very self conscious about the way I look. (Thats why I don't post pictures of myself very often.)
- My birthday is November 11th. (Yes, Veteran's Day)
- I love to sing (I know I am talented at singing, but I don't ever sing in front of anyone except Aaron, and my mom)
- I suffer from Bipolar Disorder, Manic Depression and Multiple Personality Disorder. ( I take medicine to level things out, but it's hard sometimes..)
- In 7th grade I was nominated by a teacher to the People 2 People student Ambassador Program and I actually got to travel to New Zealand and Australia (An experience I will never forget, and I will treasure forever)
- I was a Vegetarian for 3 years
- I used to work at Wild Oats/Whole Foods when I was 16. (I've also worked at Walgreens and CVS as a Pharmacist Assistant Tech)
- I literally have water balloon fights everyday in the pool.
- I have never met my Dad (Or even talked to him)
- I am very crafty and I make stuff all the time from things like Clay, Stone, and various other materials but I am too nervous to share ( I'm afraid of bad critiques)
- Before I started my blog I spent more then half the day entering online sweepstakes so that I could win nice Christmas presents for my family. (Yes I did win some things... For Aaron I won a Rock Band 2 system and an XBOX game. For my mom I won $200 in Concert Cash. I won various smaller things for grandma, like a nice apron and other kitchen items.. And my biggest one was what I won for me and grandpa.. I won 2 tickets to last years last game of the season (football) Miami Dolphins VS. Steelers and we got to have a "meet and greet" with Gloria Estefan. And right before I quit entering sweepstakes I won a Sony Vaio Laptop that I use everyday.
- The first rat I ever got; I got while on the clock while at work at Whole Foods. (It was during my lunch break and I hid them (Yes I got 2) under my register until it was time to go home.
- I was born in Ft. Wayne Indiana and I lived in a very small town, Angola Indiana from the age of 2 to 11.
- My first pet ever was Sally when I was 4 years old. Sally is still living and I love her so much <3. We grew up together :)
- I've broken my left arm and I have had 9 stitches in my left hand between my thumb and pointer finger.
- I started blogging just so I could have a safe place to put pictures of my rats (So I wouldn't have to worry about ever loosing them) but my "rat blog" actually turned into.. well this :)
- I get nervous when someone "unfollows" my blog. (It makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong)
- I've had 3 pet raccoons, a possum and an armadillo
- It is my dream to have a pet anteater and a capybara.
Take Care!
-Amanda T :)
Lotsa stuff- and you have done some interesting things :)
ReplyDeleteDon't ever think you're not pretty- you are. And everyone I dont care what they say feels self conscious about one thing or another. (not many if ANY have that perfect life)
Soooo jealous of that trip to New Zealand- that sounds so fun!
You know how I got into this contests thingy?Last year, I was trying to win toys for Toys for Tots- I volunteer at a food bank and see the folks who come in. I already have a few things for this year! (I donate for both kids and they have a program for adults) I also win things I normally couldnt buy for our house too.
A capybara? Thats an interesting choice!!!
We have had raccoons too -they are characters!
You want a really cool pet (well bird) try a crow- very smart!!!!
TY for sharing Amanda, *hugs*
we have the same birthday =)

Hi Amanada! I enjoy your blog- it is one that I look forward to reading everyday instead of just skimming over it as I go through my emails and going back to it. I click on it right then and there!I would love to see more photos of your craft projects! Keep up the good work!Oh! And I bet a baby anteater is adorable- Are they legal to have as pets? (or doea it not matter where you live?)
ReplyDeleteMy sister and I got 2 hairless rats when we were growing up. Within 2 months we had 8 baby hairless rats. Oops! They were so cute though. I found your blog during blogmania and look forward to following along. Thanks for sharing.

You should not be self conscious about the way you look girl. You're beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing a little part of you.
Thanks for sharing. I know it is hard sometimes to share because we are afraid of what people might say. I look forward to learning more about you.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter had 2 rats, Maisy and Daisy. Daisy was sweet, Maisy liked to bite. They both were very good at escaping their cages (we had a big rat cage city thing). Finally one day they escaped for good.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing about yourself.
I hope you don't feel bad about your dad, my 3 kids have no contact with their father, by his choice. Obviously, they are better off not having to deal with someone like that.
I found you during blogmania and I plan to continue following.
oh goodness dear, i don't know why you are self conscious! you are beautiful! i understand the singing thing, i have awful stage fright and am immensely intimidated by my professional opera singing brother.
ReplyDeletei think you are just so sweet and am happy to have found your blog.
Thanks for sharing, it is nice getting to know about you : )

Dear Amanda, I read the information about you in this post. I understand now why you get angry when I am writing to you from criticism. I think you noticed that your blog is leaving no chance. Maybe someone does not like rats, even afraid of them. And many, like myself, may lose patience in waiting for results of the giveaway. You wrote that won a lot of gifts for relatives. So we, too, love their families and themselves. We read your blog, but do not want gifts for less than you. We will love you more and we dedicated blog, if you do not forget us. You must declare the results of the drawing immediately after end of giveaway, or within 3 days at least. Accumulation is not announcing the results will take you much time later. And some contests if you miss, as it was already.
ReplyDeleteLet 's save each other's nerves! I invite you to my blog where the announcement of the new giveaways is great, you can try to win something myself and family also.
It was so good to learn a little more about you! I have your blog in my favorites on Google Reader! Stay sweet!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. I have to say that I have wanted to get an anteater for years because we have so many freakin' ants in our yard, except that I haven't been able to find out if anteaters can eat fire ants, which is what we have, and I wouldn't want it to get hurt or killed trying to eat them. If I could get one that could eat fire ants, after s/he ate all the ones in my yard, I'd rent him/her out to other people by the day.

ReplyDeletewell i was surprised to read your post as it takes alot of bravery to say some of the things yous said so good for you on that , i follow your blog and read your newsletters although i rarely comment, just dont do that often, i too have a similar mental illness and i know how difficult that can be and you seem to be doing very well , as i know that some days can be much worse than others , so just to let you know there are others out there who understand and i think is is awesome that you do this blog, i would find it hard to commit to something like that so i admire you for that , and thanks for the great giveaways , i cant enter all of them as i live in canada but i enter all i can, i to am a contest junkie and love to win as i have 3 teenagers who love all the gadgets etc out there , so juts wanted to say thanks for sharing and while i personally wouldnt have a rat, i have grown quiet fond of harry seeing him no here every day when i go to vote , have a good on stacey aka roswell
ReplyDeletesorry about the spelling , it is late here lol
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great thing that you've started and it's nice to know the people behind the blogs. I get nervous too when people unfollow me. Makes me wonder where I went wrong. I never knew what a capybara was until about a month ago when I saw one on the news.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Amanda, for your understanding. You're good!
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda, thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself! That is awesome about the trip to New Zealand/Australia, definitely something to be very proud of:) I too suffer from a milder form of bipolar disorder (bipolar II) so I know how hard it can be. I can relate to your insecurities about being "unfollowed", lol. I also had the same feelings as you about being afraid to share my crafts for fear of bad critiques. I just recently started my Etsy shop 3 months ago and everyone has been extremely supportive:) If this is something that you are really interested in, I highly encourage you to keep at it, you sound like a very talented individual!:) Kim
ReplyDeleteI found your blog during Blogmania. I didn't realize you had actually had rats until I took a closer look today. I don't like them, but I won't stop following. You obviously are very interesting. Thanks for sharing about yourself. I have a November birthday and am Bipolar II. I wasn't diagnosed until age 40 when my daughter who is Bipolar I was in a research study at NIMH. Bipolar is prevalent in our family; two daughters, a nephew and grandson all are Bipolar.
ReplyDeleteNice blog about wholesale Christmas gifts.
ReplyDeleteSo jealous about New Zealand!! I bet it was awesome. My husband, self and daughter want to move there and own a ton of sheep and alpacas haha.
ReplyDeleteBTW I think you're very pretty :)
