Ok, solution.

Ok, the best solution I can come up with.

I can't deal with the comment approval, it's ridiculous. Just look at my email ^, it's ridiculous.

So, I am taking off the comment approval.
Once the winner is drawn (me and Aaron will go through names and emails to confirm that the winner did not cheat. IF I host any other giveaways like that, I am following some of your advice, and I am cutting down on entries; Way down.

Thats it.. I just wanted to let you all know.. Good luck.

  1. Holy cow! That is a ton of emails! I think that will be better for you in the long run, definitely much less stress. Blogging is supposed to be fun, not stressful. I hope you're having a better day today than yesterday!

  4. Maybe 1 entry each next time. Except for tweets. 2 a day isn't so bad

  7. Amanda, why don't you use Google forms? They are so easy and fuss-free to use, and easy for the entrants too. I would highly recommend them!

  10. Glad you found a solution! That's what I do and it works fine! I do the google forms sometimes but I've decided it's more time consuming then this way. But maybe I'm not doing it the easiest way either.

  11. Good luck with the emails! Mine was like that for a while and I gave up. I deleted everything without even reading it and started over. The new "sweep" option comes in handy sometimes too, but it doesn't always work quite right.

I just moved one of my blogs over to Wordpress, and I like that it shows me the IP address of people who enter. I'm also using "And The Winner Is" to choose my winner and it's so much easier than counting comments after using Random.org

If you are interested in moving over to Wordpress, I can help you set it up and point you towards cheap hosting! I thought it would be super complicated at first, but now that I've figured it out I prefer it way more than Blogger (which my one of my blogs is still using)

  13. That is crazy. I would go nuts if I had to go through that many email messages. Cutting down on the amount of daily entires will be a big help to you for sure.

  14. There are a few blogs that have single entries for drawings. They may have 2, 3 or even 4 requirements we must complete in order to get that entry. For example - visit the sponsor and note a product or tip from the site, Follow or subscribe to the blog et cetra. Usually they mix it up asking for RSS subscription in one drawing and Twitter follow in another.

Absolutely totally agree with limiting the entries way down. The idea is to get more people to enter, not to let a few dozen people push the thread count up to an impressive number.

  15. Is there a second page for your iPad entry? I can't seem to enter as you reached 5000. Thanks!

  16. Now I can see the frustrations you were having. Good luck getting through all the emails.

  17. Thank God for the delete button! (wish I had one for my LIFE!) Yikes ...that is ton! I try to get to blogs and have to delete alot of emails and feel bad that I joined them and cant possibly visit all at the same time. Life is about choices. And priorities. That is what I have learned in my LONG life of 50 years & advice I'd give my 6 kids.

  18. Hello! I am a follower of your blog, and have been for a while! I am reaching out to the blogs I love as well as my readers for a little help and advice. I was nominated a while back for the Top Blog of the Year on Blog Guidebook. I am now in the top ten, and to reach the final round, which is the top TWO, I must beg and plead for votes. If you could in any way help me out, maybe if you could throw a bone to me on your blog, or if you require, I can do a giveaway! I have to find methods to gain voters and your help in some way would be greatly appreciated. Please met me know either way,as well as any ideas you may have. Thank you in advance! My blog is http://danajeanward.blogspot.com and the link to the voting page is www.blogguidebook.com. There is no registration, signup, or email required to vote, which is great, but finding routes to gain supporters is tough! I look forward to hearing from you!
