Ok, so I wanted to do something a little different. I saw a book that looked like this in my local thrift store, so I decided to make my own.
What you'll need:
An old unwanted (hard back) book. Spray Paint, Ribbon, A hot glue gun (any glue will work, but a hot glue gun is fastest) and a fake flower (not pictured.)
Once you have everything go outside (use a mask or something to cover yourself around the spray paint) and then spray the book. You can choose any color you want, but I chose gold. You spray 1 side, wait 10-15 minutes, flip it over, spray the other side, wait 15 minutes, and then spray the sides.
After the book is dry, it's time to apply the ribbon. Cut the length you need for your book. I started the long way. You glue it down on the back, and make sure it's tight. Then you do the same the other way across. After your done with the ribbon, your book should look like this:
Then simply glue down your flower (and some leaves if you have them) and voila!
You have your finished product:
Simple!
The best part is that if your a crafter, you'll have most of these products already lying around somewhere.
If you do this, please let me know :) I'd love to see (and if you'd like I'll even share your finished product)
Amanda.
