(I took that picture of Stan last week.. And it's so hard to know he's not here anymore :'( )
My oldest rat, Stan, passed away earlier tonight..
I knew he was getting old, and I could see him slowing down.. It's just really hard when the time actually comes..
Stan was almost 4. He lived a long, and happy life, and he will be missed, and never ever forgotten.
I'm really thankful that he passed away so quietly of old age, in his sleep.
I love you so much Stan, and so do the other ratties!
Stan was really a miracle rat. When he was really small, he got into a fight with another rat, and I almost lost him. His "area" got torn up, and it was a miracle he survived. I am so glad he did, and I had 4 amazing years with the little guy.
Sorry everyone for the sad post today :(. Not feeling up to much right now.
RIP Stan! We love you!
*hugs*
ReplyDeleteStan is right now running happily around at the Rainbow Bridge.
He had a wonderful life with someone who loved and cared for him....
Aww....
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss. It is never easy.

ReplyDeleteSorry sweetie,I'm glad he had a happy life with you.
ReplyDeleteso sorry for your loss :(
ReplyDeleteYou know, most people don't treasure their pets, especially rodents. I love that you loved Stan and that he was a great joy to you. I have heard that rats are exceptionally intelligent creatures and have no doubt that Stan had affection for you, too.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. Just let yourself grieve and know there are so many pet lovers out here who understand your pain. To lose a loved pet is horrible, no matter the species. A friend is a friend and Stan was a true one.
I'm so sorry about Stan. Rats are amazing animals and I know he'll truly be missed!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry for your loss...I have lost 3 rats & they were all so special in their own way. Losing those adorable little critters can really break a heart. Stan was well loved & no doubt loved you even more & he will carry that with him for eternity.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. It's so hard to lose a furry kid. Please don't be sorry for a sad post! Of course you are sad--you love your rats. I mean, how many other people have clothes for their rats? Stan was very lucky to have you caring for him.
ReplyDeleteI love the Rainbow Bridge poem. I have to believe in a fun afterlife for all the pets of the world. My hubby are insane--we talk about the Rainbow Bridge a lot. One of our kitties, Tabasco, passed away about a year and a half ago, and we like to make up "reports" from him from the Bridge. For example, Backy reports that there are rivers of Velveeta and boats made out of tortillas (Backy loved Velveeta and tortillas). I don't know what Stan's favorite things were, but I like to believe he's now looking over you the way you looked over him while he was on the earth. So sorry, again.

ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss. I know your rats are important to you and it's got to be hard. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear that :( I don't have any pets but I could only imagine how hard it would be. You have the memories of him which is wonderful. I'm here from the Top it off Tuesday Blog Hop. http://mixxedreviews.net
ReplyDeleteSorry Amanda about Stan. You did mention he had been slowing down - now he can run at full speed again! It is always hard for those of us left behind when one we love goes on. In time we can remember all the good memories and be grateful for that time - think of how happy you made him as well as vice versa!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you sweetie!
Butterscotch and I send our sympathies to you and Stan. I am so sorry....mine is getting up there and I will be going through it soon myself.....I hope the empty feeling passes quickly and is soon replaced by all the great memories and good thoughts. RIP Stan ♥
