Foods That Will Help You Lose Weight

By now just about everyone realizes crash diets as well as gimmick diets do not work. Sure these diets seem well and good in the beginning as you quickly drop the pounds, but the weight loss never lasts. The weight is put back on almost as quickly as it was lost, or rather even quicker than it was lost. Additionally, these diets are unhealthy and harmful to your body, and can have lasting effects over time. Rather than crash diets your body needs you to engage in eating healthy foods with controlled portions. Here are some foods that will help you drop the pounds:
Foods High in Protein- Eating foods high in protein at the beginning of your day will help you eat less throughout the day. This is due to the fact that foods high in protein such as eggs and lean meats allow you to fill fuller longer. Additionally, foods that are high in protein tend to control your blood sugar which helps to prevent cravings.
Green Tea- The antioxidants found in green tea help to burn fat and speed metabolism, both of which are key ingredients for weight loss. As and added bonus antioxidants are known to protect your body from illness.
Olive Oil-Since it is a monounsaturated fat, also known as good fat, it helps you burn calories by boosting your metabolism.
Dairy Products- Eating dairy may help to reduce the amount of fat your body absorbs. Try adding yogurt and low fat milk to your diet, and you may start to notice a skinner waistline.
Whole Grains- Studies have shown that people who eat whole grains rather than foods made from white flour tend to stay fuller longer, which helps in the weight loss process. This is due to the fact that foods high in fiber take longer for your body to digest.
Nuts- Despite being high in fat, nuts are good for you and may even help you drop a few pounds. Besides being high in protein, they are loaded with healthy fats that allow you to feel fuller longer. Additionally, nuts, such as walnuts, may also help to lower cholesterol.
Fruits and Vegetables- Eating foods with a high water content, such as watermelon, celery and lettuce, help you get fuller faster without all the calories. Additionally, the vitamins and minerals found in these foods can help you fight off illness and boost your immune system.
