Wow. Really, Facebook?!
I am so annoyed at Facebook right now.
Yesterday I decided to join in a couple of the Friday Facebook hops.. Well when I "Like" someones page I just leave a comment on their wall saying "Just liked you from the Facebook hop" (So they know to like me back) and then I leave a link to my fan page (Leaving a link to your fan page makes it SO much faster for them to like you back, which is the whole purpose of the hop.)
Well, today a fellow Blogger just made herself a fan page. I decided to go "Like" it, and while I was on her wall I just said "glad you made a page! :)" and then it said I got logged out of Facebook. That was really weird.. So I just logged back in. As soon as I logged in I got a message saying my account has been posting spam, and that my account is banned from posting on walls for 15 days. If I try to post on walls then I could be permanently banned!
I'm really mad right now! Facebook is being ridiculous! I wasn't spamming anybody :(
So, for the next 15 days the only thing I am going to do on Facebook is accept any friend requests I might get. So if you need to contact me, please don't do so through Facebook.

That sucks!!! Don't hesitate to come over and see me on my FB page. I will not let FB say you are spamming there.
ReplyDeleteSometimes FB is F-A lame.
WHAT?! That's ridiculous! You should contact Facebook and inform them about this.
ReplyDeleteIt's actually possible the owner of the wall reported you as spam for posting your link on their wall. Otherwise I don't see how FB flagged it.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure. But I have so much going on right now, I don't have time to mess around with trying to contact Facebook and get it resolved.
ReplyDeleteFacebook has been acting oddly lately. And I agree it would have had to have been someone reporting a link as spam which is rather rude if you were following them as a coutesy.
ReplyDeleteHope you are doing a bit better I miss seeing you around!
I've been having trouble too! FB says my passwords doesn't work then it does (same word) but makes me jump through hoops because of too many mistakes logging in!
ReplyDeleteGrrrr for you!
Whenever I do facebook hops, it ALWAYS tells me that I am being auto flagged as spam for posting too many similar messages (Even if I don't include a link to my fan page) . I can't even post to my own page sometimes without entering the captcha. It irritates me. I sure hope nobody is reporting me or you as spam since we are just doing them a favor by "hoping" by !

ReplyDeleteMany do not trust facebook. I even won a free phone calls, but I do not give my phone. I looked, I have a connection to this service will remove the money. And then the phone can be used for bad purposes.
ReplyDeleteI have had this problem with FaceBook. I will cut an URL out of a page to post on my FaceBook wall.
ReplyDeleteAn URL
I will get a message from FaceBook that says I can't post it, because it is spam. An URL. One that probably has been posted a couple hundred times.
I go to the URL and make changes that have little to no significant changes to the post.
Then FaceBook lets me post it...
I think FaceBook has some problems with their spam filter...
Weird...
Something like this happened to me - over a year ago. You were probably computer selected as spamming because you posted the same thing on over 10 or 20 or whatever the number of pages the program is set at. That's the trick - you would of said the same thing each time. I would contact FB and question what is going on. Explain that you were participating in blog hops and everyone was building their membership - see what response you get from FB. I was restricted for about 48 hrs and then got a 'sorry about that'
ReplyDeleteThe FB bloghops are getting shifted into highgear with use of the rafflecopter forms.
Facebook seems to be getting crazier. I can't help but feel like they are so afraid they won't be lord over all if they don't stay on top of every little thing that goes on and regulate it to death. Granted it's theirs to do with what they will but they are getting carried away. When you can't even post things on your own wall without jumping through rings of fire and giving them your firstborn, something's wrong. Lol.

i also got banned today for 15 days, if you do a search, many people are getting the same message.
ReplyDeleteAnother problem, yucky as it is, is that apparently some bloggers are marking competing blogs as spam to get them booted. I've read on a couple of other blogs that this is becoming a problem. One blog owner said that counting on an outside entity (Facebook in this example but it could be Twitter, as well) is a mistake and that it is better to build your reader base via email.
ReplyDeleteHow annoying! It seems like everywhere I look lately I am reading various stories about Facebook and the stupid things that they are doing to pretty much make life harder for everyone. I hope that either you get it figured out soon or that the 15 days pass by so quickly that it won't even matter!
ReplyDeleteI know of 6 other people that also got blocked today for 15 days. They said that someone spammed the whole page to get them blocked but not sure just think it's one of facebook "new rules" facebook just really irritates me anymore!!!
ReplyDeleteThis comes as no surprise. Apparently, someone reported one of my posts on my OWN FB page as "spam." Keep in mind, that 90% (or more) of what I post on my own page is my own blog posts. So, I cannot post anything on FB now that has my own url. Wouldn't you just "unlike" my page? And, I love how FB gives users all this power but gives me no recourse to defend myself or resolve the situation. I've contacted FB twice explaining this, to no avail. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteGood Morning! Stopping by for the alexa blog hop...
