I am a big fan of OOAK (One-of-a-kind) pieces. Nothing makes you feel as glamorous as knowing that you are the only person out there who has something. Yep - Nobody else. That unique necklace is yours, and only yours.

It's also even better, when your piece is vintage. Someone, somewhere, a long time ago, had a part of that. Your item is now a piece of history, rather than just a necklace.

Because of those reasons, I am a really big fan of Hopscotch Couture.

Hopscotch Couture is everything and more when looking for unique accessories. I mean, I've seen a lot of "unique" pieces other places, but the uniqueness of Marelle's pieces.. There's just no comparison. Her pieces are truly, Avant Garde.

When Marelle told me she was going to send me a piece to review, I was absolutely thrilled. I have to say though, waiting the days before it arrived, was heart-wrenching. Why? Because it was a complete surprise. I had no idea which piece she was sending, and the thrill of not knowing was getting to me. Every day when I got home from work, the first thing I did was look for that little package.

Finally, the day came. It had arrived.

Without hesitation, I ripped open my package. I took a quick breath, and tore into the little box!
As soon as I saw it - I knew I was in love.

The pendant was absolutely gorgeous. It had feathers, and jewels, and it was just beautiful.

At first sight, I was completely blown away by the pendant. However, at first, I wasn't thrilled with the ribbon aspect on the necklace. I've had a few ribbon necklaces in the past, and they hadn't really worked for me.

However, as soon as I tied the necklace onto my neck, my opinion did a complete 360. The weight distribution of the pendant makes the necklace drop on your neckline in a way that I can only describe as glamorous. Something about the way it just plunged down my neck made me feel like a star. I haven't worn it out yet, but I know as soon as I do, this necklace will be a highlighting, head turner.

I didn't have a dress handy that had the right plunge to show the necklace off, so I took a regular tank top, and put it on my shoulders. I know I need to get the perfect shoulder dress now, to go with it : ). This is a necklace that you shop to accentuate. In my opinion, you can't just wear it with anything. You have to put thought into it, to find the perfect piece - And that is what I will be doing.

I'm honestly almost left speechless by my admiration of it. This is by far, one of my favorite pieces of jewelry, and I know it will be something I pass on to my family one day - I can only imagine the stories that will go with it.
