Just Dance 4 Review (For Xbox Kinect)

A big thanks to Ubisoft for providing me with a free copy of Just Dance 4 to review!

Thank you to Ubisoft for sponsoring this post. Please click here to learn more about Ubisoft. I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective. #UbiChamps.

I am so excited to tell you all a little bit about Just Dance 4! It wasn't too, too long ago when I got my Kinect. The very first game I got was Just Dance 3, and I have spent countless hours playing it.

Just Dance 3 was always super fun, but after dancing to the same songs all the time, you start to get really anticipated waiting for the newest version, so you can have new dances, and new songs to get grooving to.
So when I saw an opportunity to possibly review Just Dance 4 from Ubisoft, I was so excited - When I got an email saying I was accepted to review it, I was even more thrilled! The day it arrived, we instantly got to playing.

The Just Dance games are so much more than just games. You get the fun interaction of a game, and you get that accomplished feeling of competing, but you're also exercising.
If you've never played you might be thinking "How much can this game really get me moving?"
Well let me tell you - You'd be surprised.

After just 2 or 3 songs, I am always already breaking a sweat - And by the next morning, depending on how long I've played, I can usually feel it in my body.

One thing I love most about the Kinect version is that with the Kinect, you have the camera, so during your dance session, the Kinect takes shots of you, and at the end, you also have the option to see a little "mash up" of your dancing. They're always super fun to watch, and they always make us smile.

When we first put in the game, my first thought was just to go through all of the songs that I knew - So within a few seconds we were jamming out to one of my favorite bands, One Direction. It was really fun, because I knew the song, and was really enjoying myself while dancing and singing "What Makes You Beautiful." That was only one of the great songs though!

There are 4 different dancer options, and if the song is a group song, some of the dancers, have different dances, so you line yourself up in the slot you want.
As you can see from Aaron's selection:

This also makes it more fun, because it gives you a bigger variation of dances.

Me and Aaron both did single songs, and songs together. I personally like dancing by myself though, because although you should be able to steer clear of the people beside you, when you're first learning, your dancing can be a little messy, and it's definitely easy to get in others ways.

Aaron danced to Disturbia, by Rihanna:

If you look closely, you can see some pretty cool things about Just Dance.
First off, the lyrics to each song are in the bottom left hand corner - So if you don't know a song, there is definitely room to learn the words.
Also, above the dancer on the screen, you can see your movements. If you're fast paced you can just followed the main dancer on the screen, but you can also see the moves in advance in the bottom right hand of the screen.

It's pretty easy to dance, and after you get the hang of it, you just develop a flow, and the moves just fly out of you.

I have officially danced to every song, and now I am working on getting 5 stars on all of the games :)

Thanksgiving is always a weakness for me. I eat too much, and then never feel like doing anything afterwards. This year, since it's all about family - I plan on getting my mom and grandma to join in for some dancing with me and Aaron.

Just Dance 4 is absolutely amazing, and I highly recommend checking it out for yourself. Or if you have some holiday shopping to do, definitely consider gifting it.

Just Dance 4 is available for several consoles, and is available for purchase from Amazon and Toys R Us.

  13. My son bought me Dance3 for my birthday last year and ALL of my kids played this game - and believe me, this is a miracle, as they are all "shy". They loved it and had a great time, so I can hardly wait to get the newer version - Dance4 for our next family party.

  16. I have the Wii version of this game and love it! My mom and dad actually bought a Wii for their home after watching us play this at ours. I love seeing my mom get up and dance. She can play for just a couple of songs and feel like she has exercised for the day, and she can connect with my girls through something they all love to do.
