A while back, you may remember that Aaron and I went up north on a little vacation to see his parents. While we were up there, Aaron's finger mysteriously broke out. We went to the hospital, they gave him an IV and told him everything should be fine. Now, about 4 months later, everything is not fine.
It started on my moms birthday. I wanted to do something special for her, so I got her a really beautiful rose bush. Aaron planted it for her.
Well the next day he noticed the same bumps he had gotten when we were up north. By the next day, the bumps had tripled in size. We went to the hospital the following day. We initially had the same diagnosis of Cellulitis. However, the next day we noticed things were not getting better. He still had red streak going up his arm, and this thing on his finger (that initially started out as just a couple little bumps) had turned purple, and just looked sick. His entire hand swelled up to about 2x it's size as well.
So yesterday we came back to the hospital. They re-diagnosed it as sporotrichosis. Everything ha been crazy, and it all escalated so quickly. At the present moment, me and Aaron are both waiting in Pre op, for him to have surgery.
I'm emotionally drained. Only 2 hours of sleep since yesterday, and I have to work at 2.
All I'm asking right now is that you keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Aaron means the world to me, and we are both so scared right now.
Sorry if any of this is hard to read. It was written from my phone.
Please take care everyone, and if I don't have a chance to say it on the day - Merry Christmas.
My thoughts are with you and Aaron. I hope the surgery goes well and you can feel some peace soon.

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about Aaron and I'm sending lots of prayers and get well thoughts!! We just went through something very similar with my husband oddly enough. He hurt his finger (not even sure how) and then it got infected. He ended up in the ER for IV antibiotics and then in the hospital having surgery! Turns out it was the nasty staph stuff. The surgeon thinks they got it all and that he will be ok but it's scary stuff :-( I hope Aaron feels better soon!!!
