Thanks to Stateside Man Goods for providing me with some free snacks to review.
I love Christmas - But one thing I dislike about it, is shopping for gifts for everyone; Especially, Aaron. Aaron likes some TV shows, but he really doesn't like material things, like collectibles, etc. So I tend to usually just get him new clothes, a game, or snacks - like jerky, or nuts.
So when I saw Stateside Man Goods - I knew something from them, would be perfect for Aaron. I wanted to keep the package I received, to give to him at Christmas, but for review purposes, he got his package early. When he first saw it, he was really happy. We both actually love jerky, and we were excited to try some new types, and flavors, as well as trying some other new snacks.
The pack was full of 5 delicious snacks, including:
- Fisher's Caramel Popcorn
- Perugina Milk Chocolate
- Jeff's Famous Beek Jerky
- Tanka Buffalo Bites
- and Steve's Original Berky
So the first thing we tried was the Steve's Original Berky (Berries and Beef Jerky.)
The first thing I noticed was the scent. It had a sweeter scent to it, and really drew me to it. It tasted sweet, but tender from the jerky, and it was truly delicious. I also found that the jerky was much more thick than normal jerky, and it made the small portion that we received, last longer - Which was of course a plus. While I loved this one, Aaron said that the berries over powered the jerky, and it was not one of his favorites.
Our next thing to try was the Fisher's Popcorn.
I love popcorn. It is definitely one of my favorite healthier-choice, snack foods. I know some caramel popcorn's are very high in fat, and calories, so I was a bit worried before checking the nutrition label - But I took a look, and surprisingly, not bad at all! Only 130 calories, and 2.5g of fat per serving. For something so sweet, that reminds you of dessert. Really delicious, and definitely worth trying!
Next was the Tanga Buffalo Bites:
I'm going to start by saying, Aaron loved the Tanka Bites. I tried 1 piece, and it wasn't bad tasting, but I just couldn't bring myself to eat Buffalo. Aaron however had no problem eating Buffalo. He thought it was cool to try something new, and he definitely loved the flavor. The bag was completely gone about 10 minutes after we first opened it.
Then we gave the Perugina Chocolate a try.
3 words. Chocolatey. Yummy. Deliciousness.
And finally, we tried Jeff's Famous Beef Jerky:
Aaron is not a fan of spice - Not even a little. So we didn't really think he would like Jeff's Jerky, since it has jalapeno flavoring. However, the cranberry flavoring helped balance it out, and while it did have some spice to it, it was still good, and tasty. Aaron only had a couple pieces, but I've had a few, and will definitely finish off the bag in the near future.
The best part about all of the snacks?! The were all low in calories, and fat :)
One thing I really love is the story behind Stateside Man Goods. It started out as a way to send awesome, high quality products to the Military - People in the Military do so much for us, and our country, and it's just an awesome idea!
Overall, we definitely loved Stateside Man Goods, and if you have a hard to shop for guy in your life (or you just love awesome snacks!) definitely check them out!
