Hey everyone.
It's been a long time since I've updated you all about my personal life.
I'm sure you've noticed that posts on Rats and More have been very sparse. My family and I have had so much going on. A huge string of bad luck came our way (and continues to dish its way at us, with our recent AC breakdown.) And things got put on hold. It's been an immensely stressful time, dealing with personal issues here at home with my family, and then also working 35-40 hour weeks.
Luckily (and please don't let me jinx myself) things have tamed down. The problems we've been facing have blown over a bit.. And we are really praying we don't come into any other problems any time soon. Season here in SWFL has gone, and all of our "snow birds" have left.. So hours have been cut as well (I'm currently working only about 25 hours a week.) I'm hoping to have a bit more time and energy to focus on my blog. I love bringing you all reviews and giveaways, and I am going to be getting the ball rolling again!
You may also notice an occasional post from Jake. Jake is a new occasional contributor here on Rats and More. Most of his posts will feature food related gadgets, recipes, etc. And don't worry; We won't take it over board. I don't like overwhelming anyone, and we will keep it to usually, a maximum of 1 post per day.
I used to do a bunch of self sponsored giveaways, but with our string of bad luck, came a bunch of money troubles. I want to pick it up with a few smaller giveaways, and then hopefully near Christmas time we can do a bigger one.
Keep your eyes peeled. I'll have another giveaway up within the next couple days :)
I know what it is like to live on a shoestring budget. When I was first married, after we paid the bills, we had $5 a week to live off of. My husband rode his bike to work, and each night we had canned bonita, crackers, and a canned veggie. I sure do hope that things start looking up for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about the string of bad luck. It always seems to come like that, doesn't it. I hope things get a little better and in the meantime just enjoy your blog and don't worry about the giveaways! : )
ReplyDeleteWe've had the same money issues this way. Adam started a new job in March hoping to make more money and not have to be responsible for stuff that wasn't his fault (HE was a foreman at our local & regional tree trimming service) but this company has been USING him to train new employees and then skimming money off his check.. we are hoping for it to be better.. they already want to promote him to being a leader/foreman here..
ReplyDeleteim so sorry to hear about your string of bad luck and hope that things continue to look up for you now.
ReplyDeleteYes! life is full of fun and adventure, isn't it? There are times that my day is like that too. It was three nights ago and woke up to go the bathroom and notice the carpet is wet. I check the fridge to see any wet spots but nothing. I open the door to the mudroom and there is water :-( heard dripping and yikes! our laundry room is flooded argggggggggggggg woke up the husband(he worked afternoon shift and probable got 4 hours sleep) and we both help cleaned the laundry room :-(
ReplyDeleteI hope things get better for you. Strings of bad luck can be tough. I hope that it all evens out soon and it's in the past. Glad to hear you are back blogging and I look forward to reading your posts.
ReplyDeleteOh hun! I am so sorry to hear but I am glad things are looking up. I look forward to seeing more posts!
ReplyDeletesorry to hear about all the bad luck! hope things turn around for you quickly! xo xo
ReplyDeleteI pray that the Lord will provide for your every need:)
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that you had a string of bad luck, but now over a month later I hope things are better. You have had a few more giveaways, so I hope that means you are catching up on everything that needs to be done.
