You may remember, back a while ago, I announced that I had planned on breast feeding Millie.
Well, right after we had her, I tried, and tried at the hospital - And I just could not get it to work. I was having a hard time getting her to latch. Well - Come to find out, from Millie's pediatrician.. She's tongue tied. Her doctor said that, that could definitely be a reason she is unable to latch (for more then a few seconds.)
At first, I was pretty disappointed. I wanted to be able to give her that, because I know Breast is Best, and I wanted to make sure she had the best possible, when it came to her nutrition.
So during our hospital stay, we gave her formula, which was something I did not want to do - But as soon as we were released, I immediately went to my Lansinoh products, when we got home.
Honestly, everything revolving breast feeding, scared me. I've never known any one who has breast fed, or pumped, and I definitely didn't know anything about it, so I didn't really have any guidance, other then the Lansinoh website, my product boxes, and other articles that I happened to Google.
So as soon as we got home, I started reading, and exploring all of my different products, to help me get started.
Before you're actually able to pump, or try anything with your products - You feel completely clueless. But as soon as you have them in your hands, and you're actually able to try using them, it all really comes naturally, and it just makes sense.
I've tried several of my products, already, and they have helped me so much! Even though I'm not able to actually feed her from the breast, I am able to provide her with my milk, thanks to Lansinoh, and there amazing line of products!
Pretty soon, I'll also be featuring some actual product reviews, of my favorite products from Lansinoh - Including how they've helped me, and how a lot of there great products, actually tie together, for the best breast feeding experience.
I'll be using my products a little more, before featuring some of my reviews - But definitely stay tuned!

I haven't got any children at the moment but Lansinoh sounds like a great product for mums.
ReplyDeleteWhoa... I'm sure glad I didn't have problems with my babies, but then again I didn't breast feed either and the only problem I had was my oldest son he was allergic to many formula, but finally we tried a non-allergenic formula and wah-lah!!! He turned in to one fat baby... hahahaha
ReplyDeleteI was a formula feeding mom, so breastfeeding is something I know nothing about. I am happy to hear that you found a product that worked for you :)
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that you were able to find something that works for you and your Millie. It is so important to find something that you feel confident in and trust with your family.
ReplyDeleteGood for you breast is best but it's also not for everyone. Good luck with your journey!
ReplyDeleteI love lansinoh products! I breastfed all of my four little ones and it was a lot harder than I expected or thought it would be. Kudos to you for sticking with it!
ReplyDeleteI tried breast feeding all of my girls but none of them latched. It was so frustrating, but according to my doctor I needed to do formula because they weren't getting what they needed from me. Good luck to you!
ReplyDeleteI do not have kids yet but I do hope to also give breastfeeding a try when I do have babies.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you were able to provide milk. I know so many people who have had problems!
ReplyDeleteBreast milk is really the best for babies. It's good that you got Lasinoh to provide your milk for your baby. This will help her grow faster and healthier.
ReplyDeleteTongue tie can be fixed by clipping their frenulum. In my experience, reaching out to Le Leche League can help you so much. They are volunteers, and they are seriously experienced with breastfeeding. I had issues with my first baby, too and nursing. Lasinoh is a great product for painful nipples.
ReplyDeleteLansinoh products were a life saver when I was nursing my babies.
ReplyDeleteThey make it look so easy to breastfeed in the movies but doing it in real life is a much different story. I struggled trying to get my babies to latch properly and we had a ton of issues but it's totally worth it in the end. Kudos to you for not giving up!!
Lansinoh sounds like they have some really good products. I'm glad they were able to help you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post, I am going to try to breastfeed, but I like to have options.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck on your breastfeeding journey. So glad you've found some products that work well for you.
ReplyDeleteI use to use this when I was having babies. I swear by it. It really helped things go a lot smoother for me!
ReplyDeleteBreast feeding is hard work! My son also has a tongue tie which made our breastfeeding relationship difficult at best. Keep up the good work, momma!
ReplyDeleteBreast feeding was a nightmare for me. so even though I had Lansinoh, it made little difference
ReplyDeleteMy daughter in law is expecting my first grandchild in June, I'm definitely going to share this with her. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI love Lansinoh too!! I pumped after every feeding to boost my supply!! The storage bags were a godsend! Im surprised your lactation consultant didn't notice the tongue tie!! I suggest finding a bfing support group on fb or through your hospital! They are amazing!! I don't know how long you plan on pumping for or if you plan on getting her lip tie corrected but either way the groups can be a huge support!! We have exclusively pumping ladies in our boob group and I know they have their struggles too!!
ReplyDeleteWish I'd had something like this 40 years ago. Very handy. Good luck to your and your daughter.

I was able to breastfeed for about a week but we it was a challenge and very painful for me...this was after numerous trips to the lactation consultant. Good luck to you.

ReplyDeleteMy kids are grown now but I will pass on the info to my niece.
ReplyDeleteMy cousin is expecting in March or April. I will recommend that she check into this.
ReplyDeleteThere have been so may improvements in breastfeeding products. I am glad to have this information.
ReplyDeleteI'm expecting my first later on this year and planning on exclusively breastfeeding. I've been reading a lot of articles about first time moms having issues breastfeeding and it's been making me nervous. It's good to know that they make products that help.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you found this! Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteLe Leche League is a great organization. I have actually never heard of a baby being tongue ties, I hope it is something correctable. I dont know if affects speech or not, but check into it. My daughter is older than you, so breast feeding is just a memory. I didnt have any problems doing it , but no one though much about doing anything else if they were able to.
ReplyDeleteMillie is adorable.
I agree 100% that La Leche League is a wonderful organisation!
ReplyDeleteI will let my sister know of this post so she can check out this company.
